The Dutch t-shirts are sponsored by Nike, the Spanish by Adidas. The World Championship final was not only a battle between the 2 countries but also a battle between the 2 brands. It’s like a war between them. Brands who are not official sponsored are trying to get the intention to people that ‘’they’’ are the official sponsor. That’s a kind of new marketing that companies is using.
For example, brands are broadcasting a view times the same commercial during a big tournament, so people will think that it’s a official sponsor.
The official sponsor of the World Championship is Adidas but a lot of people wouldn’t know. The rules by using other brands with the World Championship are very strictly. Because brands are paying millions of Euro’s to promote their selves. Brand can only be shown if it’s a shirt sponsor like Nike with The Netherlands or the different brands of football shoes. Big companies with the world Championship doesn’t focus only on the men anymore. The last tournament 48% of all people who watched football were girls. So lot’s of big companies chanced their tactic and has something for both. I think it’s bad that isn’t allowed to promote other brands during big tournaments, everyone has to have the same rights to promote. Tricks like the Bavaria babes is fantastic unique and original. It will give people fun and not only the strict rulen. What do you think about this?

Heineken and Champions leage


A long time Heineke’s Amstel was the sight of the Champions leage, the highest level for club teams in the world. Amstel sponsored the event until 2007 when mother Heineken toke it over. From now on Heineken wants to refresh her brand by using a new advertisement campaign with the Champions leage, which established the new theme ‘’Enjoyed together Around the world’’ This new campaign builds on the truly international premium status of both Heineken and the Champions League.
The new campaign, contains fourteen 10-second break commercials, showing football fans enjoying Heineken and the Champions league together in a range of locations around the world. Eight of these exotic locations include the beautiful Cook Islands, an igloo in Nuuk, Greenland, the Calgary tower, Canada, and a boat floating in Shanghai busy harbour. The other six break bumpers show a group of people enjoying the Heineken DraughtKeg and the UEFA Champions League in Manhattan, Moscow, New Zealand, Jamaica, on the sea and even in space
”This new Champions League advertising campaign connects Heineken as the world’s quality beer with the UEFA Champions League, by showing that Heineken and UEFA Champions League are enjoyed together in unique places around the world. The commercials will be broadcasted during live matches and high lights programmes worldwide. Heineken’s last successful theme was about the ‘’Space’’, the walking fridge. Football and beer are connected, because most of the people who watching football are men and Heineke’s target group is also mend for men.

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has announced that the sponsorship deal that it has with EUFA for the Champions League has just been renewed until 2014
For the past 9 years Sony Computers has been sponsoring the UAFA Champions Leage with their brand Play Station. With this deal they are associated with the most important football league in the world, with this deal it also has a commitment with the sport and the video games they have on the Playstation 3. To watch football is entertainment what connect with playing games on the playstation. Playstation even used the Champions Leage to create a football game on the console. For the whole deal Playstation pays millions of euro’s. Sony can afford spending such an amount of money on advertising as it is facing record losses, but there’s coming in at more than 1 billion for the last financial year. Brands as playstation need to promote on a high level because there are lots of competitors at the market, like Xbox and Nintendo. Brands as Playstation has got one target and that’s to be a market leader. The brand will appear with all Champions leage games by using billboards and commercials, and so Playstation is getting a big public. Playstation is hot? What do you think about this?

They announced an agreement until 2013 with Real Madrid for example.The reason that bwin made an agreement to sponsor Real Madrid is cause their marketing is focused to support for top-level football and it is taking this opportunity to launch a very special bet. A marketing trick to win costumers for bwin is to make a bet that Real Madrid wins the Champions Leauge 10 times by 2013. By now thousands of people has made a bet that Real Madrid will win. Bwin gets branding by using Real Madrid, one of the most attractive Football clubs in the world with also the highest budget. The brand will be placed at the front of the Shirts. Yearly millions of people buys a Real Madrid shirt, and Bwin will become popular for people who wants to gamble with football!. What do you think about this?

Holland and Belgium uses marketing to get the WC to holland.


In the year 2018 another World Championship is going on, but who will organize this?
Holland and Belgium, Spain and Portugal, England and Russia wants to organize this big sport event.
Big football names as Ruud Gullit, Johan Cruijff and Guus Hiddink represents Holland at the FIFA.
The FIFA has a lot of demands for countries who wants to organize the WC, like minimum capacity of stadiums and you have to be original.
It costs a lot of money to create this all, but you get also something back of it.
Holland and Belgium gets branding, creates more work and gets a lot with incomes from sponsoring and television rights
How does Holland and Belgium trying to get the WC to them by using marketing?
Holland and Belgium represents their selves as two countries who knows how to organize a championship, wants to show that it wouldn’t be exclusive and that they are very compact like travelling.
Fifa’s jury has judged if the country were good enough, Ruud Gullit, Johan Cruyff and Guus Hidding has showed them the beautifully culture of holland by using the traditional bicycle, and showed them why Holland is the best county to organize a big Championship.
At the final day when the judges came with a judgment, hollland had his final weapon by taking 100 Dutch supporters dressed in orange with them. With all football tournaments, the Dutch supporters are well known about their good behavior and dress style. But unfortunately it didn’t helped. The tournament goes to Russia. But Holland and Belgium has done everything to get it here. So countries can also use marketing with sport. What do you think about this?

Sony's 3d television is making a big march by WC


One of the main sponsors of the Fifa is Sony. With the Wc what was taken last summer in South Afrika, Sony introduced the new variant for watching television by promoting it on the Wc. They filmed all the football games in 3d. That’s the first time in history. Since the success film Avatar what is filmed in 3d, 3d is becoming more popular. The television industry is making a big march by introducing new televisions and has a lot of competitors already. The programs isn’t broadcasted on the Dutch channels because they haven’t got the opportunities . With the WC, Sony broadcasted all games on big 3d screens in the big capitals all over the world. Sony made a big branding with that. Dutch television channels are looking for opportunities , to broadcast all programs in 3d in the future. Right now you only have the opportunity to play games and to watch movies on 3d. Sony only has to wait for it, because they have the good name already. If the 3d television is introduced at all costumers, it will also help the trade for fair cd’s. It will not be possible to copies cd’s anymore. I think it will be a good innovation, but they have to find something that you can watch also television without 3d glasses. What do you think about this?

David Backham become a brand

David Backham probably goes to Tottenham hotspurs. The 35 year old football player from England has been playing for the LA Galaxy since 2007 but wants to return to England where he started football at Manchester united. David Backham is a football player who always wants to be in the picture of the media, and he wants to get famous in the US. When David was playing for Manchester, he was/is one of the best players in the team. The picture was always on him. He left Manchester United to sign for Real Madrid in 2003, where he remained for four seasons. On that moment he was one of the well paid players in the world. In 2007 he left to the US, to play for LA Galaxy and also to promote himself. He created his own perfume and has become a model for big brands like Armani. The name David Backham has become a brand, and he promotes it everywhere he is . If David leaves to Tottenham it will cost the club about 30 million pounds, but they will probably get it back within a week by the selling of tshirts with David backham on the back. David is hot, and anywhere he is and anywhere he comes he turns anything in gold. What do you think about this?

Holy Shi(r)t sponsoring


Because of the rich tradition of the Football club Barcelona, they refused to play with a sponsor on the shirt. The shirt with the color stripes blue and red for all the Catalane is a holy thing. Barcelona is one of the biggest football club in the world and earns millions of Euro’s with the selling of football shirts in a year. The last view seasons, Barcelona is playing with a charity sponsor on the chest. But that’s a good thing, they don’t get money of it and they indirectly helping poor children in poor countries. But now Barcelona wants to make an end of it, because of the 'credit crunch' what is taken a long time already, Barcelona wants to have a shirt sponsor as well, because they can get a lot of money with it and it will help them out with the big losses every year. Qatar Foundation offered their selves to be a sponsor on the shirts of Barcelona. Qatar Foundation has signed a contract for 6 years and pays 165 million euro. Lots of Catalane are furious about it, and sais that it is against the principles and traditions of Barcelona. The Unicef logo will not leave, it only gets a smaller place on the chest. Qatar Foundation is just as Unicef also a nonprofit organization but only wants to create a better and bigger name by sponsoring. Barcelona will play next year with the new brand on the shirts. Phillips goes, Sony comes

Three months ago, Phillips was one of the biggest sponsors of Ajax. They had more shares in Ajax, than they had shares in Psv. Why is this strange? Phillips Sport association (psv) is founded by Phillips and Psv and Ajax are competitors with football. In the Amsterdam Arena , the stadium of Ajax , the brand Phillips was shown all around the stadium. The two big television screens and twenty big billboards where belong of Phillips, they even had their own big business lounge in the stadium.
Because of a lot of bad comments of the Psv side, (most of them supporters) Phillips decided to make an end with the sponsoring deal with Ajax, what was taken for over more than 10 years. On that moment Ajax lost one of her biggest sponsors. That was not taken that long. Ajax contracted Sony for a sponsoring deal. From now on you can admire 2 big led screens and lot’s of billboard of Sony in the Amsterdam Arena. Sony will provide the arena with all of her latest electronic, like Led screens and surround system. They shown their selves as a company who trades environmentally friendly by using sustainable development. The contract is for at least 7 years. Ajax lost his sponsor but find a new one, and Psv is happy because Phillips has more shares in the club.

''Aegon'' main sponsor of Ajax

A large bank in Holland is Aegon, at Aegon you have the possibility to invest, insure and to borrow money.
Aegon is the main sponsor of Amsterdam Football club ajax and started their relation 3 years ago, in 2007.
Before they started the cooperation, Abn Ambro was sponsoring Ajax since 1989 , what is also a large bank in Holland. Ajax is the biggest football club in Holland and is well known all over the world because of her rich history. So it is not strange why Aegon choosed for Ajax. Ajax plays attractive football in Holland but also in Europe. At the moment Ajax take part of the Champions league, the highest level of football in the world. That means a big audience and also a huge brand awareness
Aegon shows her brand on the shirts, in and outside the Ajax stadium, and Aegon gives the supporters of Ajax the opportunity to open a Ajax bank account. Aegon pays every year up to 12 million euro depends on what they achieve. The contract is for 7 years, but now Aegon wants to sign up already. There is none other football club in Holland who gets more money with a sponsoring deal than Ajax. With this deal Ajax is ranking on the 7th place of best earning football clubs with a sponsoring deal in the world. This is for Ajax very important, so they have a higher budget to invest in players.
It’s not the first time Aegon is sponsoring a sport team, at the moment Aegon is sponsoring a Dutch skating team.
